Lazy Lucy

Ok I seriously have the laziest dog of all time. Her name is Lucy. Very cute, very Cuddly, and she'll have a fit if you don't pet her. But she only does three things in life. Eat, sleep, and hide under my moms bed... with more sleeping. Lucy is a 4 year old mutt, half pit-bull, half black lab. She loves walks, but I don't remember the last time she had one.
You ask how is this a pet peeve? Well let me tell you... The wonderful dog I have is not really mine. Really she belongs to my mother. And for some reason, whenever my mom or sister owns a pet, they don't have discipline to take care of it. They keep telling themselves that they will take care of the it, but I always end up doing it! When I was younger, our family used to own a cat. The cat was given to my sister as a gift because she loved cats. My sister would aways want one of the stray cats we would see every morning before we went to school. She would beg my parents for a cat everyday, but my parents would constantly refuse her request because they doubt she could take care of one. But as a suprize, they got her one. The first days of having the cat were pretty normal. She knew the cat was hers and she was taking care of it. But after having the cat for 3 months, she was slowly not taking care of it. And thats when I had to jump in and take charge.

My mom taking care of lucy went down the same road. Now I find myself taking care of this dog. Yeah she's adorable and everything, but why can't women take care of animals?!? Lucy still does stuff like this everyday. She sleeps with me every night, and when she wakes up, she goes under my moms bed and sleeps some more. So I have no choice but to assume that I have the laziest dog of all time...

Bad Business???

Okay, people are lazy... Its a fact, no matter how hard you fight it, laziness always appears. Were just human, and its nature. But its a different story when I see people who are trying to run a business, and they act as if they either don't take it seriously, or they just go without plain thinking. Here are 2 examples:

1. Operation Repo- There is a t.v show on "Tru TV" called Operation Repo. And a brief description of the show is pretty self-explanatory. They want to show the reality of people when they get unhappy with the fact that their car is being re-possessed. The purpose if this job is to reposes cars or vehicles that belong to the finance company due to the lack of payments being paid. And as a result, they get their vehicle towed away. Now Each employee of the job understand the nature of it; people will get defensive and try to fight the repo team so they won't have their car taken away. The name of the leader of the team is Lou, he makes sure that his team is well prepared and strong to take on any individual who tries to fight them. But recently Lou showed me a sign of laziness. He hires an individual who just was extremely arrogant, and just wasn't the right person for the job. He thought he was the best, he would embarrass himself in front of everybody, and primarily, he would make the company look bad. I noticed it, and even the other employees noticed it. He needed to be fired!! First day on the job, he hits on the bosses (Lou's) daughter as there making their way to their first repo. The daughter is just constantly blowing the guy off as he continues to hit on her. Later on as their doing the repo, the guy was trying to back the truck up towards the car in order to perform the repo. But instead of positioning the car correctly, he backs the truck up too far and damages the car, which makes the situation even worse. The lady just saw her car get damaged by the repo team. By this point I would've had it with him, I would've fired him. But Lou showed sympathy due to the fact that he's new employee. When I saw him in another episode, he set himself up and almost caused the company to be sued. I thought it was over for him, but again, I was shocked to hear that Lou got him off the hook because he thought it was a big learning experience for him. I was very disappointed by this point due to the way business was being handled. If I were in charge of overseeing the company, that'd be extremely unacceptable to me. The individual eventually did get fired because he was driving drunk while working in the field. Leo finally put his foot down and he fired him as the police were arresting him.

****The bottom line in this case is the fact that he should've been fired a LONG time ago. I questioned Lou's knowledge of business after this phase of his. He did apologize and said it will never happen again.

2. Jamba Juice- Jamba juice is one of the most successful juice stores in the world. In 2008, they recorded $317 million in sales from 700 stores together. However, this business is struggling for an obvious reason, which is the pathetic economy. Many companies and businesses act quickly in order to save money and prolong their business from falling. Sometimes laying people off is the best decision. Another method of keeping the business alive is to come up with more products for the business in order to make an increase in sales. This sounds like an easy task for Jamba Juice, all they have to do is come up with more signature flavors and just mix the ingredients to create something new. Suprizingly, that doesn't happen. Instead, they decide to start selling food in their store, such as sandwiches and pizza. I honestly don't know what to say about that other than the fact that its just pure ridiculous. I just had a big discussion about it on facebook, and it appears that I'm not the only one with this pet peeve. Even their own employees are astonished. Now they're even more bummed out because now they have to do more labor, such as making these sandwiches and pizza and put on display. Now i believe that Jamba Juice will fall faster. Why? They must buy more products in order to make the food! And if their juice isn't selling, what makes them think that these food products will sell?

My ultimate pet peeve right now is people these days are making stupid mistakes in their business, and it needs to stop. Their making mistakes that are so big that it could cost them their company. My message is stop being lazy, think strait, and put the business first before your friends. Thats why managers are managers. Why do you think they lay people off? Even after being on the job for 20 years? Its because they love the business! Its not that they don't like you, and yes its a hard decision for them to make. Heres the bottom line, if you love your company, it will last forever. And its also the key to your success. Remember, you can do ANYTHING if you put your mind to it. Anything...
